In the last two days there have been posts on Digg’s RSS feed about memorable ads from the Superbowl. (link1 and link2). The first link is a top ten and the second is a top 25 listing. The thing I always love about these top ## lists is that they are always arbitrary about how they decide on what goes on the list and in what order. If these lists were based on some kind of survey or actual data they should have similar listings (and maybe one does). Both lists have the Mean Joe Green Coke commercial as the number one but that’s almost a given. One list has the Apple 1984 commercial as #2 and the other as #10. I assume that the top ten list should be completely include in the 25 list but the numbers 2, 3, 5 and 9 items aren’t even listed.

I wonder why it is that this type of content does so well on Digg and in the world in general. I could make a top ten list of my assumptions but that would be stupid. :-)
