Yesterday, our car wouldn’t start. We were able to get it started again after pumping the gas but it scared us a little. It’s always bad when your running late and your primary means of transport won’t turn on. After class yesterday, Amanda and I went to get a new battery and we rushed home to get it installed.
Needless to say I was in a fight against the dark and the cold because I wasn’t going to have time tomorrow. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find my ratchet set. I looked everywhere that it might even possibly be and after ten minutes of frantic searching I found it “hiding” behind a storage box in the shed. Then I couldn’t find my car gloves but at that point I just wanted to get it installed (which is why my hands are all banged up). As I installed the battery in the dimming light I vowed to keep all my tools in a specific spot so I could quickly find them next time.
Last summer I organized the shed on a budget of $0. This has really bit me because now everything that I neatly put on the crummy shelfs is out of order or pushed behind something. I now see that this isn’t a good system because having one large shelf quickly become chaotic when tools freely move on their own. I’m going to work on a better system for the shed and I might actually have to put some money into it. ![]()
